Museum of the Hooked Rug and Home Life

United States Presidential History by Elizabeth LeFort, 1959. 390 colours were
needed, 7 miles of yarn were used. The rug took 6 months in the making and
1,700,000 loops were hooked. The rug displays 34 presidents and 2 seals.

The museum showcases hundreds of antiquities reflecting daily life during the settlement of Chéticamp. Prominent in the exhibits are examples of tools and demonstrations of techniques used by the world-renown Chéticamp rug hookers.
Our gallery showcases some of the finest work by local craftspeople, from traditional antiques to contemporary hooked rugs.
